Color Variations:
The specified yarn colors in this pattern are for the age 3-5 dress (red at the top).
For the age 6-8 dress, reverse the colors.
For the age 2-3 dress, use half the required number of rows in bright colors and the remaining rows in white, except for the last color where only half the purple rows are completed.
Using Red Yarn:
Red Row 1:
74 (78, 78) FSC. Join to the first FSC with a SS. (Ensure it fits over the child’s head).
Red Row 2:
Ch 3 (always counts as DC).
DC into next 9 (9, 9) stitches.
DC-ch2-DC into the next stitch.
DC into next 17 (18, 18) stitches.
DC-ch2-DC.
DC into next 18 (19, 19) stitches.
DC-ch2-DC.
DC into next 17 (18, 18) stitches.
DC-ch2-DC.
DC into next 8 (9, 9) stitches.
SS to the top of ch 3.
Red Row 3:
Ch 3, DC into each stitch.
DC-ch2-DC in each ch2 space.
Repeat Row 3 for 4 (4, 7) more times.
Fasten off.
Join Orange Yarn in the Center of the Back of the Dress:
Orange Row 1:
Work in BLO (Back Loop Only).
Ch 3 to start.
DC in each stitch until 2 stitches before the first ch2 space.
In the stitch before the ch2 space: yarn over and insert the hook into the stitch and also through the stitch after the 2nd ch2 space.
Complete your DC stitch; this creates a sleeve opening.
DC in each DC until 2 stitches before the 3rd ch2 space.
Work another DC through both the stitch before the 3rd ch2 space and the stitch after the 4th ch2 space to create the 2nd sleeve opening.
DC to the end.
Orange Row 2:
Ch 3 to start.
1 DC in the same stitch as ch 3.
2 DC in each stitch around.
